i feel blessed reading your letter to ur dad…
1 year agoI got my dad a Bible with his name imprinted on it. Pray for him as he receives this as I leave for LSU. I wrote him a letter, too:
Dad,
I’m giving you this Bible because of how it’s treated me. I promise you, that if it weren’t for the Bible, I wouldn’t be the same son you love today. It’s truly changed my heart for the better, and I love it. I’m not giving you this book to force anything on you. Rather, I’m giving it to you to share a part of me that I couldn’t share with you any other way. I hope you’re enlightened by it. I know we have our differences and it’ll always be that way. I love and accept things as they are. I am who I am, and you are who you are. If you weren’t, well… you just wouldn’t be. But anyway, my point is that I love you, dad. I love you just the way you are, imperfections and all. After all, if you were perfect I suppose you wouldn’t be needing a “buddy”, huh? That’s why I’m giving you this Bible, because you’re my buddy. Because when it comes down to it, I just wanna stay in touch, stay buddies, and know each other. I love you, dad. What are we? Buddies. If you could, every time you think about me while I’m college, read this book. Go ahead, why not. I mean it’s the piece of me (other than Amanda…haha) that I can tangibly leave with you at home, while I’m an hour away making sure tuition’s well spent. Thanks dad, for everything.
Love,
Michael
